DeKalb Father Charged With First-Degree Murder in Death of 5-Month-Old Son

A pretrial detention hearing is scheduled this week following the infant's death from a fractured skull with brain hemorrhages.

DeKalb police say Dominic G. Larson, 30, brought his 5-month-old to Northwestern Kishwaukee Community Hospital with severe facial injuries on Monday.
The child was flown to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and was pronounced dead Tuesday after doctors reported a skull fracture with brain hemorrhages.
Deputies say Larson appeared intoxicated at the hospital, tried to leave, and was restrained, handcuffed, and taken to the police department for questioning.
The DeKalb County State’s Attorney has approved charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery, reckless conduct, and endangering the life and health of a child.
Larson has been arrested and is expected in court for a pretrial detention hearing this week as the investigation continues.
