Deezer Starts Selling AI-Music Detection Tool, Strikes First Deal With Sacem

The move targets large-scale streaming fraud that Deezer says siphons royalties from human artists.

Overview

  • Deezer made its AI song-detection system available for external licensing and says it can spot outputs from generators like Suno and Udio with 99.8% accuracy.
  • France’s rights agency Sacem signed a commercial license, and Deezer says it is in talks with other collecting societies with outreach planned in Los Angeles during Grammy Week.
  • The company reports about 60,000 fully AI-created tracks uploaded each day, accounting for roughly 39% of new submissions, with more than 13.4 million AI tracks identified in 2025.
  • Up to 85% of streams tied to fully AI-generated tracks were fraudulent last year, while AI music represented only 1% to 3% of overall listening on Deezer.
  • Deezer excludes fully AI-generated tracks from recommendations and removes them from its royalty pool, which the company says comprises 70% of subscriber revenue.
