Deezer Says AI Now Makes Up 44% of Daily Music Uploads

Deezer warns the flood threatens artist pay.

Overview

  • Deezer disclosed Monday it now receives about 75,000 AI-made tracks per day, equal to 44% of new uploads.
  • These tracks account for only 1% to 3% of listening, and the service says it removes about 85% from recommendations.
  • Deezer says it labels AI-made music, runs an AI-detection tool launched in January 2025, and cuts off pay for tracks it flags as fraudulent.
  • The share of AI uploads has climbed from 10% in January 2025 to 18% in April, 34% in November, and 44% now.
  • Artists and labels warn of a flood of synthetic songs, with past cases showing traction such as AI “singers” in U.S. country charts and The Velvet Sundown nearing one million Spotify followers in 2025.
