The judge granted him conditional bail, warning he should expect a very lengthy prison sentence at a later hearing.

  • Hamilton, 47, admitted one count of rape, one count of assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault at Winchester Crown Court on February 13.
  • Wiltshire Police said his offences form part of wider proceedings involving Joanne Young, 48, who has waived her right to anonymity.
  • Joanne Young’s ex-husband, former Swindon councillor Philip Young, previously pleaded guilty to 48 offences including rape, voyeurism and administering a substance with intent.
  • Philip Young admitted publishing more than 500 non-consensual intimate images and videos of his ex-wife and recording her without consent between 2010 and 2024.
  • Four other men have pleaded not guilty and are due for trial at Winchester Crown Court in October, as police also seek to identify another man described as large build with head scarring and a distinctive left-chest tattoo.
