Overview
- Deaf West, Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC), and New York Stage & Film will present three public developmental performances of Whistle Down the Wind July 31–August 2, 2026, at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, New York.
- Tony-winning director Bill Rauch will lead the project with ASL choreography by Rosa Lee Timm, music direction by Jared Stein, and visual access engineering by Chelsea Zalikowski.
- The announced principal cast includes Savannah Dahan as Swallow, Marc Kudisch as Boone, Elena Shaddow as the Ghost of Swallow’s Mother, Noah Buchholz as The Man, and John McGinty as Preacher.
- The engagement is a developmental, exploratory workshop presented by arrangement with LW Entertainment and is intended to refine staging and access strategies rather than launch a commercial run.
- Deaf West is extending its track record of ASL-inclusive reimaginings—including Spring Awakening and Big River—to a seldom-produced Andrew Lloyd Webber score, joining the company’s aim to broaden who musical theatre serves.
