Overview
- The DEA-led operation resulted in the seizure of 339.5 pounds of cocaine and roughly $700,000 in cash, authorities disclosed Friday.
- Two 33-year-old men, Burhan C. Ozerdinc and Ahmad S. Sanducka, were arrested and charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute more than 900 grams of cocaine.
- Prosecutors say the probe began on Aug. 29 when agents placed a tracking device on a semitruck and followed it to a Franklin Park warehouse and then to a River Grove residence described as a stash house.
- During the enforcement actions on Sept. 14–15, agents stopped the semitruck in Indiana and seized 11 boxes with 198 bricks of cocaine, and searches at the River Grove home and a vehicle uncovered about 154 more bricks plus packaging materials and large amounts of cash.
- A Cook County judge ordered both suspects held pretrial and the multiagency investigation is active, increasing the likelihood of federal follow-up and possible asset-forfeiture actions that could disrupt the wider trafficking operation.
