DDA Opens Citywide Palaash Mahotsav as LG Unveils Inaugural Green Expo at Reclaimed Baansera

New partnerships will turn Delhi’s parks into living laboratories for research, culture and biodiversity outreach.

Overview

  • The spring festival runs February 14–16 across four venues — Baansera, Ashoka Garden, Lala Hardayal Park and Smriti Van — marking its first simultaneous citywide staging.
  • Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena inaugurated the two-day DDA Green Expo 2026 at Baansera, themed “Beyond Growth: Reimagining Urban Futures.”
  • The event featured the unveiling of the DDA Greens logo and the DDA Greens Year Book 2026, alongside exhibitions, panels and workshops on climate-ready cities.
  • MoUs were signed with the National School of Drama, University of Delhi, Delhi Technological University, the National Medicinal Plants Board and WWF-India to activate park-based theatre, student research, technology solutions and biodiversity initiatives.
  • Saxena hailed Baansera’s transformation from a degraded riverbank into a restored public space and said development and conservation can advance together while cautioning against “misguided activism.”
