DAZN to Buy EverPass and Take Commercial Rights to NFL Sunday Ticket

The deal gives DAZN EverPass’s venue streaming tech and rights and brings EverPass owners into DAZN as minority shareholders.

Overview

  • DAZN announced on Wednesday that it will acquire EverPass Media, the company that sells and delivers live sports to bars, restaurants, hotels and other commercial venues.
  • EverPass’s exclusive commercial distribution rights for NFL Sunday Ticket transfer to DAZN and EverPass will be rebranded as DAZN for Business with Alex Kaplan remaining as leader of the unit.
  • RedBird Capital Partners, the NFL’s 32 Equity investment arm and TKO Group will become minority shareholders in DAZN as part of the transaction, while financial terms were not disclosed.
  • EverPass recently secured a new distribution deal with DirecTV to offer Sunday Ticket by satellite and streaming, and DAZN says existing EverPass customers should see no interruption to service.
  • The acquisition gives DAZN a ready-made commercial streaming platform and venue relationships that speed its U.S. expansion, and could ease the shift for businesses that still rely on satellite by keeping both satellite and IP delivery options available.
