Daytime West Ridge Shooting Wounds Two, One Critical

  • A 31-year-old man was shot in the back and left shoulder and is in critical condition, and a 24-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and is in fair condition at St. Francis Hospital.
  • Chicago police said an unknown person opened fire and fled, and no one was in custody as of late Wednesday.
  • Investigators recovered at least 16 shell casings believed to be from a rifle, according to an officer at the scene.
  • Witnesses told police the shooter left in a white Acura SUV with rear-end damage, and officials have not identified a motive as the investigation continues.
