Overview
- King Art Games and Deep Silver announced on Thursday, May 21 that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will launch on September 17, 2026, and the Commander Edition grants three days of early access on September 14.
- The PC release will be available via Steam and ships at launch with four playable factions: Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus in their Dawn of War debut.
- The base game emphasizes single-player content with more than 70 campaign missions co-written by Black Library author John French, plus Last Stand, Skirmish, and multiplayer modes.
- A staged first-year roadmap includes free updates (new modes, map packs, and a Mission Editor), the return of Crusade Mode in autumn, and two paid pieces of year-one DLC—a Blood Ravens prologue and an Aftermath expansion that adds a fifth faction, both bundled in the Commander Edition.
- Developers say further post–first-year content and additional factions will depend on the game’s commercial and critical reception, and the Mission Editor is intended to help the community extend the game’s life by creating and sharing custom battles.
