Darksword Malware Targets iPhones on iOS 18.4–18.7

Overview

• Stiftung Warentest reports a new iPhone threat called Darksword that hits devices still on iOS 18.4 through 18.7.
• Infection can start with a single tap on a link that leads to an infected website.
• The malware can read and steal emails, SMS texts, messenger chats, passwords, photos, and crypto‑wallet contents.
• Users should update to iOS 26 on iPhone 11 and newer models to close the security holes.
• Older iPhones should install iOS 18.7.3, and updates are available under Settings > General > Software Update.
