Dark Arts Returns to Hogwarts Castle at Universal Orlando

Universal is staging a projection-driven Halloween season with roaming Death Eaters, themed merchandise and select-night scheduling that requires guests to check the official app for exact dates.

Overview

  • Universal announced on Wednesday, Aug. 19 that Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle will run on select nights from September 5 through November 1, 2026, at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Hogsmeade.
  • Death Eaters will appear in Diagon Alley on select dates from August 27 through November 1, extending the darker theme across Universal Studios Florida.
  • The castle show uses projection mapping, lighting, film music and special effects to depict Dementors, Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort swarming Hogwarts before the sequence concludes.
  • Universal is selling Dark Arts–themed merchandise during the season, including a Lord Voldemort second‑generation interactive wand, and Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley will feature related items.
  • The run is explicitly scheduled only for select nights and some official pages still list the experience as “temporarily closed,” so guests should confirm performance dates in Universal’s calendar or mobile app when planning visits.
