D’Amaro Confirms J.A.R.V.I.S. and Broader AI Rollout Across Disney

The move signals a deliberate effort to use AI to speed design, testing, and operations while keeping creative control with human artists.

Overview

  • Disney disclosed Wednesday that it has rolled out an internal AI platform called J.A.R.V.I.S. to more than 2,000 Imagineers, giving them searchable access to roughly 70 years of institutional design and engineering records.
  • Imagineering teams are using AI-powered digital twins and simulation tools to design and stress-test attractions before construction, with those tools already applied to planning for the company’s Abu Dhabi park.
  • Disney is piloting guest-facing and workforce tools—natural-language search and trip-planning features briefly tested on DisneyWorld.com are now in Cast Member testing and other AI-assisted tools are being trialed to help Cast Members serve guests in the moment.
  • Generative AI remains tightly constrained: Disney is testing AI for ad creative and personalization but ended its planned OpenAI Sora arrangement earlier this year after Sora shut down, underscoring a cautious, staged approach to public-facing content generation.
  • The company is also investing in robotics R&D, publishing ride-safety and animatronics patents, and funding AI startups through its 2026 Accelerator cohort, moves that may speed design cycles and reduce late-stage fixes while raising questions about how AI will shape future creative work.
