D23 Day at Disneyland Set for August 13 With Free Ear Hats and Limited Princess Concert

The park-wide kickoff previews Expo talent, sells limited-run merchandise, relies on app virtual queues, requires reservations, is expected to swell park crowds.

Overview

  • Disneyland Resort will stage D23 Day on Thursday, August 13, as a one-day public kickoff to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that is open to any guest with valid park admission and a park reservation.
  • Guests who arrive at park opening can pick up a complimentary D23‑themed Mickey ear hat and a commemorative guide while supplies last, and all park visitors that day get unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos including special D23 Magic Shots.
  • The evening’s headline is a live taping of Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration at Disney California Adventure with extremely limited attendance controlled by a virtual queue in the Disneyland app that opens at noon and mandatory wristband pickup later in the afternoon.
  • Disney will release multiple limited-run merchandise and food items beginning Aug. 13, including themed collections (Hunchback 30th, Alice 75th, Disneylandia), a Haunted Mansion Hatbox Ghost popcorn bucket, and purchase limits on select items to manage demand.
  • The one-day celebration extends into Downtown Disney and resort hotels with member discounts and themed activations from Aug. 1–16, and media outlets advise visitors to plan ahead because reservation rules, app-based access and scarce giveaways are expected to make Aug. 13 one of the busiest park days of the summer.
