Overview
- A 50-year-old man suffered a severe head injury and died after losing control on a mountain-bike picada that leads toward Laguna Negra on Cerro Goye, with the crash occurring a little after 1 p.m. on Sunday.
- The victim was identified as Adrián Ignacio Arano, a longtime Bariloche resident and financial advisor originally from Buenos Aires who was active in the local sports community.
- Rescue teams from the Club Andino auxiliary commission, Comisaría 55°, volunteer firefighters and Criminalistics personnel reached the scene in difficult terrain and performed about 40 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation before the man was pronounced dead.
- The Fiscalía de Bariloche assumed the case, ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, and said there are no current signs of third-party involvement while the inquiry continues.
