Overview
- Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 Pro update went live Wednesday as patch 2.310.100 and is a free download for existing owners.
- The upgrade adds PSSR2, an AI upscaler that renders at a lower resolution then reconstructs the image, which Digital Foundry says delivers cleaner edges and sharper detail.
- CD Projekt Red implemented BVH8 and other ray-tracing optimizations that improve lighting, shadows, and reflections, though reflections are narrower than on top-end PCs and occasional CPU-driven dips can occur.
- Three graphics modes are offered on PS5 Pro: Ray Tracing Pro targets 30fps or 40fps on 120Hz VRR screens, Ray Tracing targets 60fps, and Performance targets 60fps with a 90fps ceiling on VRR displays.
- PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can play the enhanced version through the Game Catalog on PS5 Pro without buying the game.
