Customs Seize Hydroponic Ganja From Bangkok Flyers at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru Airports
Investigators now pursue suspected network links after field tests identified the consignments as ganja.

- At Delhi’s IGI Terminal 3, officers intercepted two passengers from Bangkok and seized 6,019 grams of suspected ganja that field-tested positive, with an estimated illicit value of about ₹6.019 crore.
- Customs in Mumbai made two separate seizures at CSMIA, arresting Subhan Khan and Ilyas Shaikh after finding 3,592 grams each of hydroponic weed in vacuum-sealed packets, valued at roughly ₹4 crore per case.
- A Bengaluru case reported by Customs involved a February 13 arrest of a Bangkok arrival carrying 6.98 kg of hydroponic ganja concealed in cookie packets, valued at about ₹2.44 crore.
- All accused were arrested and the narcotics and packing materials were seized under provisions of the NDPS Act, officials said.
- Customs describe the investigations as preliminary and say efforts are underway to trace other persons and map the broader smuggling network.
