Overview
- LASD says a woman in her 50s shot a 43-year-old man inside Pink Beauty Supply in Compton after he allegedly groped a shopper and threatened to kill people.
- Deputies were called around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and found the man dead at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Department and Compton Fire personnel.
- Investigators report the man threw merchandise, appeared to hold an object believed to be a knife, and was shot after a warning shot and then a second round when he turned toward the armed customer.
- Detectives say surveillance video indicates additional witnesses were present and are asking anyone who was in the store or parking lot to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
- LASD says the shooter has not been arrested and investigators currently see no criminal culpability, with charging decisions to be made by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
