Certification now opens the path to wallet-based credentials across homes and enterprises.

Overview

  • The Connectivity Standards Alliance published the Aliro 1.0 specification and opened a certification program to ensure interoperable digital keys.
  • Apple, Google and Samsung plan to support Aliro credentials in their mobile wallets on phones and watches, with broad consumer use pending platform rollouts and product certification.
  • Aliro standardizes NFC tap, Bluetooth LE longer-range access, and UWB for hands-free entry, including operation in offline locations such as garages and elevators.
  • The specification uses asymmetric cryptography for secure, privacy-preserving interactions and draws backing from more than 220 CSA member companies.
  • Vendors including Aqara, Nuki, ASSA ABLOY affiliates, Kwikset, NXP and Qorvo are preparing updates or new devices, with initial certified hardware expected later in 2026.
