Overview
- After a crocodile was seen off Sentosa Cove, Sentosa Development Corporation barred swimming and kayaking at Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches until further notice.
- The National Parks Board and SDC activated a joint search team, and patrols and monitoring have been stepped up along the beachfront.
- The beaches remain open to visitors, and staff are directing people to heed safety signs and stay out of the water.
- This is the second reported sighting around Sentosa this year, following a late-January case that also led to a temporary water ban.
- NParks put up caution signs at nearby Keppel Bay after a separate report last week, and it urges people to stay calm, back away slowly, avoid feeding or provoking the animal, and report encounters to 1800-476-1600.
