Crimson Desert Rolls Out Patch 1.04 With Difficulty Modes, Major Storage Overhaul and Visual Upgrades

Pearl Abyss is reshaping the launch experience with a fast, player‑driven live‑ops push.

Overview

  • Pearl Abyss, which released Patch 1.04 on Thursday, pushed the update to PC, PS5 and Xbox with a Mac version to follow and a hefty 29–37 GB download depending on platform.
  • The update adds Easy, Normal and Hard settings, with Hard shortening parry and dodge windows, reducing roll invincibility, delaying food healing until the animation ends and giving select bosses new attack patterns.
  • The housing and storage revamp introduces dedicated chests with up to 1,000 slots and wardrobes that can reach 1,000 outfit slots, and players can now craft and cook directly from stored materials without moving items into their inventory.
  • Pets and quality-of-life features expand with recruitable birds via a Sotdae of Bond quest, five new cat types and pet and horse renaming, alongside combat tweaks that end boss immunity during big moves, new skills and weapons for the trio, control presets, inventory tabs, map filters and clearer distant rendering with new accessibility options such as a colorblind mode.
  • Pearl Abyss acknowledged a mount‑summoning bug from the patch and on Friday issued hotfix 1.04.02 to address UI, naming and PS5 Pro display issues, with boss rematches and deeper controller customization still slated for upcoming updates through June.
