Crimson Desert Enhanced 2.0 Patches Story, Reworks Skills and Adds New Languages

Pearl Abyss presents the free 2.0 update as a narrative repair that precedes a shift of development toward a paid DLC later this year.

Overview

  • The free Enhanced 2.0 update, launched at Gamescom on Tuesday, Aug. 25, upgrades existing copies and makes new sales the Enhanced edition by default.
  • Pearl Abyss added new cutscenes, dialogue lines, memory fragments and boss conversations to improve the main story and to give protagonist Kliff more inner life.
  • Patch 2.0 overhauls the skill system by adding an Abyss Link resource, per-character progression and refunds, eight new skills, and a New Game+ mode.
  • The update expands localization with German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese voiceovers plus Arabic UI and subtitles, and is live on all major platforms except the Mac App Store while a Switch 2 port remains in development.
  • Pearl Abyss says it will slow the pace and scope of free updates to reallocate staff to a paid Crimson Desert DLC due later this year after the title sold more than six million copies.
