Overview
- Corey Heim held off TRICON Garage teammate Kaden Honeycutt by 0.065 seconds in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 at Michigan, making two defensive moves in lapped traffic on the final lap to protect the lead.
- Heim and Honeycutt had worked together in the draft earlier to put distance on the field and on Carson Hocevar, who led a race-high 65 laps, but their cooperation dissolved in the closing laps as they raced for the win.
- After the race Heim thanked Honeycutt for the late push and then told him in the winner’s press conference, “Get thicker skin and deal with it,” prompting Honeycutt to say he was frustrated and that he “definitely wouldn't have lifted” in that situation.
- The victory is Heim's 26th career Truck win, his first at Michigan and his third win in five Truck starts this season, and it comes one week after his announcement that he will join 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027.
- The Truck Series now pauses for an off-week before returning June 19 at San Diego, leaving TRICON Garage and its drivers time to regroup and creating a storyline to watch about team dynamics and Honeycutt's string of near-misses this season.
