Cooper Plans $300 Million Outpatient Campus in Gloucester Township

The project is meant to bring specialty services and an on-site MD Anderson cancer program closer to South Jersey residents while boosting local jobs.

Overview

  • Cooper unveiled plans for a five-story, 184,000-square-foot outpatient campus on about 39 acres next to Route 42 in Gloucester Township, with a target opening in 2029.
  • The facility is designed to house exam suites for cardiology, neurology, OB-GYN, orthopedics, urology, pulmonary care, pain management and ambulatory surgery.
  • An MD Anderson Cancer Center component will be included on-site and is planned to offer radiation oncology, infusion services and advanced diagnostic imaging.
  • Cooper and state officials say the $300 million project is expected to create roughly 400 healthcare jobs and to support regional economic growth.
  • The campus is part of Cooper’s wider expansion program that follows a 2023 Moorestown outpatient site and a $3 billion Camden campus build, while financing, permitting and a formal construction start date have not yet been disclosed; PhillyVoice noted a family connection between Cooper board chair George E. Norcross III and its founder.
