Construction Starts on $100 Million Logistics Hub in Luján de Cuyo

A private consortium will relocate the province’s dry port to Ruta 7 to create an intermodal base for regional trade.

Overview

  • Mayor Esteban Allasino formally launched works by Ruta 7 near the YPF refinery, moving the project into its build phase.
  • The contract went to a UTE made up of Andesmar Cargas, KRC Global (Grupo Kristich), Laugero Construcciones, Autotransportes Andesmar, and Servicios y Mandatos.
  • Authorities described a phased plan: core facilities targeted within 12–24 months and a second stage of up to 60 months, with about 60% of investment front‑loaded in the first two years.
  • Designs call for capacity for roughly 10,000 trucks, a truck‑rail intermodal station, a Zona Primaria Aduanera, warehouses, fueling, hotel and food services, security, firefighting, and a gendarmerie post.
  • Traffic is expected to shift toward Variante Palmira, and the Puerto Seco now in Godoy Cruz will move to the site to bolster the bioceanic corridor, ease Paso Cristo Redentor bottlenecks, and serve San Juan exports.
