Overview
- The shooting, which occurred Tuesday morning around 9 a.m., began when a masked man approached a customer at the Shell station near 15100 Harlem Avenue and pointed what appeared to be a gun.
- The customer, who holds a valid Illinois concealed carry license, drew his firearm and shot the suspect once in the cheek while remaining uninjured.
- Officers found the wounded man nearby, identified him as 20-year-old Christopher Brown, and took him to a hospital where he is listed in stable condition under guard.
- The Cook County State's Attorney approved multiple felony charges against Brown including attempted armed robbery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm.
