Hyundai posted 51,547 units in India with SUVs comprising 72 percent of its September tally.

Overview

  • Tata Nexon was India’s best-selling car in September 2025 at 22,573 units, the highest monthly dispatch for a single Tata model.
  • Hyundai’s SUV lineup contributed 37,313 of its 51,547 September units, with the Creta, Venue and Exter alone accounting for 35,988 sales.
  • Creta led Hyundai’s range at 18,861 units (up 19 percent year over year), Venue logged 11,484 (up 12 percent) and Exter recorded 5,643 (down 18 percent).
  • Other Hyundai nameplates saw sharp year-over-year declines in September, including Alcazar (-54 percent), Verna (-39 percent) and Ioniq 5 (-81 percent).
  • Compact and sub-4m SUVs topped the charts, with Nexon followed by high volumes for Venue (11,484), Brezza (10,173) and Sonet (9,020), as late-September GST cuts and festive buying lifted demand.
