Overview

  • The four teams announced a joint $250,000 gift Sunday to support Central Indiana flood relief, with the Colts’ release saying the Colts gave $125,000 and the other $125,000 came from the Pacers, Fever and Noblesville Boom while some news reports described the Colts and Pacers as each giving $125,000.
  • The donation will go directly to the American Red Cross’ Indiana Region to pay for emergency shelters, meals, relief supplies and recovery services for affected families.
  • Red Cross officials said they sheltered about 200 people overnight and distributed more than 4,700 meals and snacks in recent days as teams and volunteers staffed multiple shelters.
  • Torrential rains pushed the White River above 20 feet, forcing evacuations in riverside neighborhoods, prompting hundreds of rescues and leaving reports of between five and seven storm-related deaths.
  • President Trump issued a federal emergency declaration to free federal resources for many counties, and team leaders urged ongoing community support as relief shifts from immediate aid to longer-term recovery.
