Around 10:32 p.m. the truck driver called 911 saying shots were fired and his passenger, 23-year-old Andrew Bott, was struck in the head and later died at a hospital.
Jefferson County investigators arrested Steven Simpson and Corryn Simpson this week and charged Steven with first-degree murder and Corryn with accessory to a crime.
A judge denied bond for Steven Simpson and set a $200,000 cash or surety bond for Corryn Simpson, and both defendants are next scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
