Color Fantasy Crew Member Seriously Injured Off Kiel, Airlifted After Lifeboat Transfer

A coordinated NorwegianGerman rescue moved the 30-year-old from the DGzRS lifeboat in Laboe to a helicopter bound for a specialist clinic.

Overview

  • MRCC Stavanger alerted MRCC Bremen at about 14:15 after the Norway-flagged Color Fantasy left the Kieler Förde bound for Oslo.
  • DGzRS dispatched the Laboe-based rescue cruiser HANS HACKMACK, which rendezvoused roughly 600 meters off Laboe and brought the patient aboard.
  • The patient, a 30-year-old crew member, was taken into Laboe port and handed to land emergency services after initial care.
  • In consultation with a Johanniter paramedic, the rescue center arranged both a ground ambulance and a helicopter, which flew her to a specialist clinic.
  • Calm seas—around 0.5-meter waves with a force 4 westerly breeze—helped ensure a smooth handover, and officials have not disclosed the cause of the injury or her current condition.
