College World Series Holds Two Elimination Games in Omaha

Tuesday’s matchups will decide who reaches the semifinals while adding pressure to pitching staffs under the CWS’s non‑reseeded, double‑elimination format.

Overview

  • Two elimination games are scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 at Charles Schwab Field: West Virginia vs. Troy at 2 p.m. ET and Texas vs. Georgia at 8 p.m. ET.
  • ESPN will carry both games on television and they can be streamed on the ESPN app or via Fubo.
  • West Virginia and Troy meet in a rematch after West Virginia beat Troy 7-5 in the opener, and both schools are making their first College World Series appearances.
  • Texas reached Tuesday’s game after a 14-2 elimination win over Alabama in which Adrian Rodriguez had seven RBI and completed the third CWS cycle in history.
  • Winners will advance to face North Carolina and Oklahoma on June 17 and move one step closer to the June 20–22 championship series while teams on the SEC‑heavy side manage compressed pitching workloads.
