Overview
- The student, identified as Tejaswi (also reported as Teju/Tejaswini), left her college on Monday and was captured on CCTV visiting a bakery and walking around Sankey Tank before leaving a bag with her phone near the lake entrance.
- She sent a message to a male friend saying she intended to end her life, the friend alerted her family, and relatives searched the lake overnight before a security guard found her body floating early Tuesday morning.
- Sadashivanagar police registered an Unnatural Death Report, deployed Scene of Crime Officers to examine the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and have traced and questioned the boyfriend as part of the probe.
- Investigators say no suicide note has been found and are probing possible stressors including her parents' separation and a recent dispute with the boyfriend while relatives raised concerns about Sankey Tank security.
