Colapinto Brings F1 Back to Buenos Aires on April 26

Organizers expanded the Palermo route to handle an estimated crowd near 500,000.

Overview

  • The road show, set for Sunday, April 26, will run along Avenida del Libertador and Avenida Sarmiento in Palermo.
  • City officials extended the course to ease flow and add space, mapping Libertador from near the Bullrich bridge to Casares or Ugarteche and Sarmiento between Figueroa Alcorta and Libertador.
  • Colapinto will drive a 2012 Lotus E20 with a Renault V8 in Alpine colors because F1 rules do not allow current cars in public exhibitions.
  • Access will mix paid viewing zones with large free areas, and local outlets report paid tickets sold quickly with TV coverage planned on ESPN.
  • It will be the first F1 run on city streets in roughly 14 years, and Colapinto called the chance to perform for home fans a dream come true.
