Overview
- Judge V. Sundararaj convicted the three under Section 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and ordered compensation of ₹7 lakh to the survivor and ₹2 lakh to her boyfriend.
- The convicts are T. Karuppasamy alias Satheesh (30), his brother T. Kaleeswaran alias Karthik (21), and their relative M. Guna alias Thavasi (20), from Sivaganga and Madurai districts.
- According to the chargesheet, the trio assaulted the boyfriend, abducted the 20-year-old student near the airport on the night of November 2–3, 2025, and gang-raped her; she was found around 4 a.m., and he received treatment at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
- Police said they analyzed footage from about 300 surveillance cameras to track the suspects and arrested them near Vellakinar after shooting them in the legs during the capture.
