Coast Guard, Partner Agencies Seize 358 Kg of Cocaine in San Juan Harbor After Stowaway Report

  • A Coast Guard Station San Juan boat recovered one person in the water alongside 10 bales of cocaine weighing 358 kilograms (789.25 pounds).
  • Authorities estimate the drugs’ wholesale value at more than $5 million.
  • Customs and Border Protection units and Puerto Rico Police marine teams joined Coast Guard crews in the harbor response.
  • No additional stowaways or contraband were found during boardings, and the suspect and drugs were transferred to Homeland Security Task Force–San Juan partners for federal prosecution.
