Overview
- The 42-foot yacht Proudfoot, reported disabled Saturday after 5:45 p.m. about three miles southwest of Moriches Inlet, drifted in rough 12-foot seas.

- The aircrew hoisted two men and two women by metal basket in darkness, completing the lift by 9:42 p.m.
- The helicopter flew the group to Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach for medical checks, and officials reported no injuries.
- The yacht washed ashore Sunday at Democrat Point on Fire Island, and officials said it was intact with no pollution risk as the owner arranged commercial salvage.
