Overview
- Claim presented its 2025 annual tally on Monday showing 975 documented antimuslim incidents in Berlin, an increase of 331 cases from 2024 and an average of nearly three incidents per day.
- Most reports were verbal attacks (399), followed by bodily injuries and property damage (289) and discrimination (273), with incidents occurring mainly in public spaces, schools and online.
- Where gender was recorded, women made up about 57.5–58 percent of victims, with many attacks targeting visibly Muslim women such as those who wear headscarves.
- Claim and the eleven Berlin counselling and reporting centres that fed the report caution the rise may partly reflect better outreach and more reporting channels and stress a large unreported ‘dark figure’ of incidents.
- The group warned that repeated relativization of victims’ experiences weakens trust in state institutions and urged prevention measures, while a nationwide 2025 overview is due on June 23 and could shape policy responses.
