Citroën Launches Facelifted eC3X in India With BaaS Option

The compact electric hatchback is on sale with bookings open and two buying routes that change upfront cost and running charges.

Overview

  • Citroën India opened bookings for the eC3X this week with deliveries expected in the coming months and an introductory ex-showroom price reported by some outlets.
  • The eC3X uses a single 29.2 kWh battery and a 57 hp motor that Citroën says gives a combined range of 325 km and DC charging from 10–80% in about 57 minutes.
  • Buyers can pay outright or choose Battery‑as‑a‑Service, which reduces the upfront price to about Rs 6.89–8.30 lakh and adds a battery rental charge reported at Rs 2.26 per km.
  • The car is sold in three trims—Live, Live (O) and Shine—with the top Shine trim adding features such as projector LED lights, a larger touchscreen and six airbags.
  • Comparisons with the Tata Tiago EV note tradeoffs: the eC3X offers larger battery capacity and more claimed range while the Tiago is shown to charge faster, costs less and comes with stronger standard safety kit.
