Citizen Sleeper 1 and 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 With 4K and 60 FPS

Free upgrades for current Switch owners are intended to keep players connected to the series as the games receive higher-resolution visuals and smoother performance.

Overview

  • Jump Over the Age announced on June 6 that Nintendo Switch 2 editions of Citizen Sleeper and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will be released digitally on June 25, 2026 via the Nintendo eShop.
  • The Switch 2 versions will offer 4K resolution in TV mode, 1080p in handheld and tabletop modes, and full 60 frames-per-second support across display modes.
  • Players who already own the original Nintendo Switch versions can upgrade to the Switch 2 editions at no additional cost, a policy meant to preserve existing libraries and goodwill.
  • The announcement was posted with official trailers and an overview highlighting the series’ award-winning, dice-driven narrative gameplay and its cast of characters.
  • Both games first appeared on the original Switch and other platforms, and this technical refresh could bring the franchise to new players while following a wider industry trend of free upgrade paths during console transitions.
