Cinderella Castle Repaint Advances to Front Facade With Back Largely Gray

Disney is restoring the icon to its classic light blue, gold, and gray palette with completion targeted by year’s end 2026.

Overview

  • Crews have begun repainting front-facing elements, with gold trim around the main entrance now a pale gray and fresh work visible near the clock.
  • One of the tallest towers is fully gray and another is mostly gray, with additional sections on the east and west sides newly coated, as aerial images corroborate.
  • Most of the castle’s rear walls are now gray, and painters have started on window trim; the blue roofing has not yet been repainted.
  • The moat has been drained to give crews closer access, and reporters note it remains unclear whether some gray areas are final coats or base layers.
  • Repainting began in late January, entertainment on the castle stage has been adjusted with roaming character appearances, and Disney has not provided a specific finish date beyond the end-of-2026 target.
