Church Sets Open House for Fort Worth Texas Temple and Names Jan. 10, 2027 Dedication Date

The announcement advances the nearly finished 30,000-square-foot Burleson building toward public tours and its role as Texas’s sixth operating temple.

Overview

  • The First Presidency announced on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 that the Fort Worth Texas Temple will hold a public open house Nov. 5–21, 2026 and be dedicated on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2027.
  • A media day for news organizations is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, with invited-guest tours on Nov. 3–4 and the open house running Monday through Saturday only.
  • The temple is a single-story structure of about 30,000 square feet on a 9.37-acre site near SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson, just south of Fort Worth city limits.
  • When dedicated the building will become the sixth operating temple in Texas and the second serving the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington area, and the Jan. 10 session will be broadcast to area church units.
  • The project traces to President Russell M. Nelson’s Oct. 3, 2021 announcement and an Oct. 28, 2023 ground-breaking led by Elder Jose L. Alonso, and it joins other Texas temples under construction or planned as the church prepares to serve roughly 400,000 members in the state.
