Christoph Hartmann Named General Manager of Ubisoft’s Creative House 2

The hire aims to centralize Tom Clancy shooters with free-to-play multiplayer to sharpen long-term franchise strategy.

Overview

  • Ubisoft announced on Wednesday that Christoph Hartmann will serve as general manager of Creative House 2 and oversee its strategic direction and long-term portfolio.
  • Creative House 2 groups Ubisoft teams that build competitive and cooperative shooters, including The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell, under a single operational lead.
  • March of Giants, the free-to-play MOBA Ubisoft acquired from Amazon, will join Creative House 2 to sit alongside the Tom Clancy franchises.
  • Hartmann is a veteran executive who co-founded 2K Games, led its 2K label until 2017, and most recently ran Amazon Games before leaving earlier this year.
  • The appointment furthers Ubisoft’s wider reorganization into five Creative Houses that give each unit ownership of major IP while the company pursues €200 million in savings and has carried out layoffs and studio closures.
