CHP Issues Regionwide Phone Alert in Search for Missing Oakland Coffee Owner

Police say Amy Hillyard is an at-risk missing person due to a medical condition.

  • Hillyard, a 52-year-old co-owner of Farley’s Coffee, was last seen Wednesday around 2 p.m. walking her dog on Radnor Road in Oakland’s Cleveland Heights neighborhood.
  • About 100 friends and relatives held a candlelight vigil Sunday evening at the Lakeside Park pergola on the east side of Lake Merritt.
  • Hours after the vigil, the California Highway Patrol sent a Bay Area cellphone alert on behalf of Oakland police asking for help to find her.
  • Search efforts have grown over the weekend, with volunteers canvassing neighborhoods, checking hiking trails, posting flyers, and reviewing home camera footage.
  • Oakland police ask anyone with information to call 510-238-3641, and note she is 5-foot-4 and about 120 pounds with blond hair and hazel eyes, last seen in a tan top and tan pants.
