China Links Nanlong Station to Three Rail Lines in a Nine-Hour Overnight Operation

The rapid remodel forms part of a 246-kilometer corridor designed for 200 km/h service to sharply shorten regional travel times.

Overview

  • About 1,500 workers in Longyan, Fujian, completed the remodeling and rail connection at Nanlong station within a single night.
  • Work ran from roughly 18:30 on Friday to about 03:00 Saturday to limit disruption to existing services.
  • Seven work trains and 23 excavators operated under a strict schedule as teams installed monitoring equipment and rail signaling.
  • The integration connected the Nanlong line with the Ganlong, Ganruilong and Zhanglong routes to improve network links in southeast China.
  • Local authorities said months of soil studies and logistics planning preceded the push, which is expected to cut some trips from around seven hours to roughly 90 minutes.
