China Chip Industry Group Decries Dutch Freeze on Nexperia After CEO Suspension

The association backs WenTai's legal response following a Dutch order freezing the unit's assets for one year.

Overview

  • China's Semiconductor Industry Association issued a statement on Oct. 14 expressing serious concern over Dutch intervention in WenTai-owned Nexperia and pledging support for member companies' rights.
  • The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs ordered a one-year freeze on adjustments to Nexperia's assets and intellectual property on Sept. 30 on national security grounds.
  • The Netherlands enterprise court enacted emergency measures that suspended Zhang Xuezheng's duties and powers as Nexperia's CEO.

  • Nexperia operates R&D and manufacturing centers in several European countries, employs thousands of staff, and reported about RMB 14.7 billion in revenue for 2024.
