Overview
- Bomb-disposal teams on the Awapalli–Murdanda road detected an approximately 30 kg fox-hole IED about three kilometers from Murdanda Camp.
- The device lay five feet inside a foxhole and two feet beneath the road surface, so it was destroyed in place; the road was repaired and reopened for traffic.
- A second IED of about 5 kg was located in the Gangalur area and was safely defused by CRPF personnel and the Bomb Disposal Squad.
- CoBRA units demolished multiple Maoist memorials, including one honoring slain CPI (Maoist) leader Basavaraju on the Indravati riverbank.
- Police say the larger device may be an older emplacement recently reconnected via wiring of up to roughly 200 meters for command detonation, highlighting a continuing IED threat.
