Chevy Revives Corvette Grand Sport for 2027 With New 6.7-Liter LS6 and Hybrid Grand Sport X

Production starts this summer at Bowling Green.

Overview

  • Chevrolet unveiled the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and the all-wheel-drive Grand Sport X on Thursday, confirming a new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 for the lineup.
  • The LS6 makes 535 hp and 520 lb-ft, adds a 13.0:1 compression ratio, forged internals and a tunnel-ram intake with a 95 mm throttle body, and it becomes the standard engine in the refreshed 2027 Stingray.
  • Grand Sport X pairs the LS6 with a 186 hp front motor and a 1.9 kWh battery for 721 hp and all-wheel drive, offering Endurance, Qualifying and Push-to-Pass modes and low-speed EV driving up to 50 mph while replacing the E-Ray’s role in the lineup.
  • The rear-drive Grand Sport offers Touring, Z52 Sport Performance and Z52 Track Performance setups with options such as Z06 iron or carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires and Z06-style aero.
  • GM will assemble the LS6 in Flint, Michigan, and build both models in Bowling Green, with sales expected in summer 2026 and pricing to be announced closer to launch.
