Overview
- Lepas, a new brand owned by Chery Automotive, says it will launch three SUVs in the UK within the next 12 months.
- The L8 flagship arrives in the third quarter as a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, an electric motor and an 18kWh battery claiming up to 55 miles of electric range.
- The mid-size L6, pitched at the Kia Sportage, will be sold as petrol, hybrid or full EV, with the EV using a 67kWh battery for a claimed range up to 270 miles.
- The smaller L4, due next year, targets the Volvo EX30 and BMW iX1 market as a compact EV, with other powertrain details still to come.
- UK pricing, local specs and order timing are not yet confirmed, with fuller details promised later this year under Chery’s export program that also launched Jaecoo and Omoda.
