Chery iCAUR V23, Jetour T2 Earn ASEAN NCAP Five-Star Ratings

The results reinforce reporting of JSWChery plans to assemble these SUVs in India from August 2026.

Overview

  • Under ASEAN NCAP v4, the electric iCAUR V23 totaled 91.02 points with 31.77 for Adult Occupant Protection, 42.50 for Child Occupant Protection, 18 for Safety Assist and 14 for Motorcyclist Safety.
  • The Jetour T2 achieved 86.50 points with sub-scores of 29.74 (AOP), 40.63 (COP), 18 (Safety Assist) and 13 (Motorcyclist Safety), qualifying for five stars.
  • Assessors recorded a stable frontal compartment for the T2 but only marginal protection for the driver’s left shin.
  • Both SUVs list extensive safety tech including six airbags, ABS, ESC, autonomous emergency braking in city and inter-urban scenarios, lane-keeping aids, forward-collision warning and blind-spot detection, with ISOFIX and rear-occupant or child-presence alerts noted.
  • The tested units were built in China for ASEAN markets such as Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, with India launches reported as planned but not officially confirmed.
