Checker Raises $8 Million To Expand Single-API Stablecoin Infrastructure for Banks

Investors are backing a single-API approach to help banks adopt stablecoins.

Overview

  • Checker raised $8 million from Galaxy Ventures, Al Mada Ventures and Framework Ventures, with strategic backers including Bitso, Airtm and DFS Lab, in a round that The Block reported spans pre-seed and seed stages.
  • The company offers one API that lets regulated banks and fintechs mint, redeem and route different stablecoins while handling compliance checks and day-to-day treasury tasks.
  • Over the last 12 months it processed $3 billion in transactions for about 30 institutional clients, including Rail, Braza Bank and Belo, with coverage across 75 currencies.
  • Checker, which announced the funding Tuesday, plans to deepen payments coverage to reduce reliance on slow, costly correspondent banking and to add embedded lending that supports just-in-time settlement.
  • The firm will roll out AI agents for onboarding, compliance and treasury, and it told The Block it will expand partner networks in Brazil, Kenya, Hong Kong and the United States.
